HOLLY COLLIER

Design Lead: UX Design, Strategy & Research

About Me

I am fascinated by people.
I love collaborating across disciplines to learn, experiment and design for experiences at the intersection of digital products, services and the physical world.

As a designer, I've worked on most parts of the human-centered design process. I have worked with in-house design departments, design studios, government agencies, and non-profits on both distributed and co-located teams. I got started designing mobile apps for iOS and Android when smartphones were brand new, and I've also designed for omnichannel experiences, multi-platform services & campaigns, kiosks, browser features, websites and web applications.

As a UX Lead, I bring a blend of interaction design, information architecture, user research, service design and strategy to my projects: I collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and align around UX strategy, identify new feature and product opportunities, test/learn/iterate in a lean and user-centered way and connect the dots between multi-platform services and across end-to-end experiences. As a user researcher, I plan and conduct generative and evaluative research as a piece of the product development process on each of my projects—just enough to keep things moving.

I live with my husband and two small children outside Chicago. When I'm not at work, I like hanging out with my family, going to rock shows, eating Mexican food, outdoorsy stuff, and collecting records & cassette tapes. Once upon a time, I played in bands, fell in love with cross-references while working in a record store and got people to dance to handclaps & tambourines (maybe I'll do it again someday?).
